    • Lindsey saw this ad on TV the other night (during House of all things!) and showed it to me. I knew the OLPC group was going to start selling laptops this month, but I had no idea they’d be advertising them during prime time TV on Fox. Nice job!

      Most exciting? Hero Nakamura! Monday’s at 8pm- especially now that it is the only show still on!

      So, do those kids still get food or do they have to give it up for the laptop? Also, where do they log on to the ‘net if they are to access all sorts of ideas from around the globe as Hero says.

      The laptops for the G1G1 program are donated, so the kids won’t have to give up anything to get them, and the requirements for net connectivity are pretty low. The laptops have built in wireless and automatically communicate with each other to form an ad-hoc mesh network. So a single access point could cover an entire school or small community.
