I tried to do a quick sketch of a wire container/cage that Lindsey uses for houseplants.  I figured it’d be pretty simple since there wouldn’t be anything to shade.  It turned out to be much harder than I thought it’d be, partly because I was spending too much time trying to get in detail as opposed to just sketching the general idea of what it looked like.  The other problem was getting the perspective and depth right.  I tried going over things that are closer to the eye with a softer, darker lead.  I also didn’t draw the sides at all.  It was definitely a learning experience.
