Seems as though that would deter only the laziest of thief, but I’m glad it worked!
As another use for zip ties, just last week I fixed a coworker’s sandal with one (a sleek black variation). The solution was so successful, she contemplated breaking and fixing her other sandal similarly.
Well…I had 5 or 6 of them on there, and I can see my bike from my office window. I eventually ran home and got my bike lock. I figured if any potential thief saw what I had done they’d probably slash my tires out of spite.
