Hey, Dictionary.com said it; I didn’t. I finaly got Hoary installed on a few machines. I did the whole apt-get dist-upgrade on two machines, and a full blown install on the other. It’s nice that hibernation finally works in linux on my laptop. Suspend (both S1 and S3) crashes the whole system, but that’s OK since the battery life on this thing is so bad that suspending wouldn’t really gain me anything. Resuming from hibernation is definitely slower than resuming from windows hibernation, but the convenience of being able to pick up right where I left off is worth it.
I’m giving xfce a test drive also. Since my laptop is slowly becoming old and busted, gnome can be a little sluggish. As a lightweight GUI, I like it, though it will never replace my beloved windowmaker.
