I drew robots during the 25 minute wait
…We went out to dinner last night and L gave me her Ikea pencil. What was I supposed to do?
Ubuntu seems to be the Linux distro of choice for our household right now, mainly because it’s so easy to use/install and I can actually get useful stuff done with it. Printing just works. My ipod and digital camera(s) just work. DVD playback just works. So instead of mangling around trying to get the very latest Totem to compile, I actually do things with the computer.
Like learn Python. Python looks to be a great programming language for quickly developing fun things. I’ve been reading about it and playing around with sample code for 3 days now. I think I’m going to like it.
And watch DVDs. A xine-wielding laptop propped in front of a treadmill is a great exercise tool.
And make movies of my kid. I just installed kino today. We’ll see how that goes.
